Background
Liebovich was formerly a reporter and editor for the Milwaukee Sentinel, a reporter/editor for the Rockford (Ill.) Register-Republic, and a reporter for the Champaign-Urbana Courier. He won several awards as a reporter. He has written five books on the press the presidency and the press and foreign policy. He previously was an instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and UW-Whitewater.
Research and Creative Endeavor
Liebovich is the author of 鈥淎braham鈥檚 Rhyme鈥 (Nightengale Press, 2007); 鈥淩ichard Nixon, Watergate, and the Press: A Historical Retrospective鈥 (Praeger, 2003); 鈥淭he Press and the Modern Presidency鈥 (Praeger, 1998, 2nd edition in 2001); 鈥淏ylines in Despair: Herbert Hoover, the Great Depression and the U.S. News Media鈥 (Praeger, 1994), and 鈥淭he Press and the Origins of the Cold War 1944-鈥47鈥 (Praeger, 1988). He is a co-author (with Shraga Feivel Bielawski) and editor of 鈥淭he Last Jew From Wegrow鈥 (Praeger, 1991). His fourth book, 鈥淭he Press and the Modern Presidency,鈥 won the Choice Magazine Award as one of the outstanding academic books of 1998. His areas of interest include media history, the press and the presidency, media economic history, politics and the media.
